In Argentina, 7 out of 10 kids are born in poor homes and 4 out of 10 live in poverty. They are born, they grow and work in surrounding neighborhoods of the cities without proper living conditions to have good physical or mental health. In vast majority, it is the mothers who organize to educate and feed the children but the lack of resources make them not fulfil their goal. This is why we find in schools kids with the ability to study but unfed, wanting to learn but cold, helpful to the community around them but with nothing to give. For these and many other reasons is that these kids deserve an opportunity to study.

Without the community's help, this program could not be able to function and this is why we have developed the GIVE AN OPPORTUNITY project, so you could, from anywhere in the world, consider giving your support to reach a social development and help forge a different future for these kids.

We strongly believe that education is the best tool to fix the social crisis. Just like the old saying:
"If a person is hungry don't give him a fish, but rather show him how to fish."

What does it mean to you to have the scholarship?
For me the scholarship is like a group of members that create a specialized career for the kids for their future. Makes dreams come true for those adolescents who cannot reach them.

What are your expectations regarding the scholarship?
The scholarship from the first day that they spoke to me about it, I was left with my mouth open. I like it a lot, it is full of knowledge and happiness for those kids that have the miracle to be in it. My mom is very happy.

WHY GIVE AN OPPORTUNITY


Because they want to progress and they don't know how, they want to learn and alone they can't. They live in very poor "barrios" of the city without proper living conditions. Because thanks to you they will find a hope to keep on. Nowadays, to give them the opportunity to study is a great challenge, but it is the most assuring and only way to change; change not only their lives and that of their families, but of the section of this community.

Their situation is not easy and they need help from the community, schools, teachers and each one of us. Help us so these kids, future adults of tomorrow, can have access to the education and food that is guaranteed by our National Constitution even though the current national political and economical crisis does not let them reach them.

Fundacion COINED establishes a connection with the kids, helping and sharing the most important moments of their life, offering them a just life, giving them the opportunity to change.

Give an Opportunity to one of these kids and you would be offering them the opportunity to go to school and educate themselves, improve their living conditions and dream with a different future than the present in where they are living at now.

The social situation in Argentina has drastically worsened during the las 4 years, 66% of the kids are poor. More than half of the population lived under the line of poverty and 8 million people live in poverty. The weaker, the kids and the young, are the ones who suffer the consequences.

WHY THIS SYSTEM?

Because through this system with only a small monetary help, the results have a multiplicative effect, representing in each child many benefits. Through this help system together we will be able to help more kids every year, letting them plan their studies in the long term.

HOW DO WE DO IT?

To Give an Opportunity is something very simple and gratifying, you only need to fill out the online form.

The minimum needed to help a kid is $15 per month.

- With $15 you will help buy the school supplies for a child

- With $20 you help pay for the child's transportation to/from school and some school supplies

- With $35 you help pay for the child's transportation to/from school and all the school supplies

- With $40 you help pay for a child's transportation to/from school, buy all the school supplies and a reference book to study from.

- With $65 you will help sponsor a child completely. This will cover a child's transportation to/from school, buy all the school supplies and a reference book to study from, application to the local school, clothes, extra curricular activities costs, tutoring costs, healthcare costs, and follow up person costs.


The minimum time to Give an Opportunity is 3 months.

Under no circumstances will the money be directly given to the kids, it is administered by Fundacion COINED. In this way we make sure the child you sponsor through Give an Opportunity receives all the necessary benefits, being able to request administration information whenever you need.

What activities do you do ?
I like to read anything, I listen to music (not rock), I like to draw (even though I really can't), I cook what I know how to cook and sometimes I try new things. I help my mom in whatever I can and I see a little bit of everything on TV.

What would you like to be in the future?
I would like to be someone stable, I mean, have a place to live, a job....
